Extended Day The Forbes Extended Day Schedule divides each student's day into two parts. Three and one-half hours of the day will be spent on CORE subjects which include reading, math, spelling, and language. The remaining portion of the day is spent in art, science, social studies, physical education, and music. To allow for more continuity and tracking of students in the Specialty classes, classes are taught on a semester basis. Track 1: Students begin school at 8:00 a.m. and have CORE classes until 11:30 a.m. After lunch they attend specialty classes and are excused to go home at 2:15 p.m. Track 2: Students begin school at 9:30 a.m. and attend specialty classes until 11:30 a.m. After lunch they attend CORE classes and are excused to go home at 3:40 p.m. Track 1 goes to lunch with specialty class. Track 2 goes to lunch with their core class. |
